Thomas William Cleverley born 12 August 1989 is an English footballer who plies his trade with Manchester United and England.
After starting his career in the youth setup at Bradford City, Cleverley joined Manchester United at the age of 12. Between 2007 and 2009 he played for Manchester United's reserve team, and occasionally in first team friendly matches. Cleverley was loaned to League One side Leicester City at the start of 2009, for whom he made his first Football League appearances, helping the team secure the League One title and promotion to the Championship. He spent the 2009–10 season on loan with Watford in the Championship, where he scored 11 goals in 33 league games and was voted as their Player of the Season. On 31 August 2010, he joined Wigan Athletic on a season long loan, where he scored three goals in 25 appearances and helped them to avoid relegation on the final day of the season. He returned to Manchester United for the start of the 2011–12 season and made his first competitive appearance in the Community Shield victory against Manchester City.
The current season has seen the old trafford youth product impress with sterling performances that will likely bring him rewards for an improved contract terms that hopes to put him at parity with fellow England internationals Chris smalling and Phil Jones.
The midfielder only signed his existing deal, which runs until 2015, last October but United are keen to reward him for his impressive form with a salary package worth up to £60,000-a-week.The 23-year-old currently earns a basic £35,000 - rising to £40,000 including bonuses - but his pay rise will see his earnings brought into the same bracket as the likes of his fellow domestic and international team-mates Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. Cleverley’s performances this season have been rewarded with a place in the England starting line-up for the Three Lions’ last four World Cup qualifiers as he begins to fulfill his billing as the ‘new Paul Scholes’.
He scored his first Premier League goal for United in their win at Newcastle earlier this month and is now a regular in Sir Alex Ferguson’s side after injury troubles restricted him to just 15 appearances last season.

UNITED AIM TO END WINLESS LEAGUE RUN AT STAMFORD BRIDGE...

Match official Mark Clattenburg
MarkM Clattenburg will take charge of Sunday's match between Chelsea and Man Utd

October 28th 2012 KO--17:00GMT
 Venue: Stamford Bridge

Since the inception of the BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE in 1992, few venues have not really been an easy hunting ground for Britain's most successful team MANCHESTER UNITED. On sunday the 28th of October 2012, United will travel to one of such stadium where they trade tackles with the current European champions Chelsea, a match that could prove pivotal in this year's title race.

Having won the league a record 5 times since 2002,they have found Stamford bridge to be an imposing citadel tho' they defeated Chelsea there in the Champions league last year April, they have failed to win in the last nine(9) league visits to Chelsea with there last taste of victory coming in April of 2002.

Between March 2004-October 2008, Chelsea played 86 league matches at home without defeat, with liverpool ending the record breaking sequence with a 1-0 victory courtesy Xabi Alonso's strike. United's striker Wayne Rooney, a player with an overflowing trophy cabinet has never won a league game at the Bridge.

United certainly has a very terrible record when it comes to trip to Stamford Bridge, its been problematic over the decade especially when you compare with their away results against the other teams currently residing in the top half of the table..

The question is will this be the season Rooney finally end his search for a league win at Stamford Bridge, with RVP and Roo working well in tandem, United has the firepower to worry a Chelsea defense that will be without suspended skipper John Terry, but Sir Alex Ferguson's side has been uncharacteristically sloppy at the back this season conceding first in 8 of its 12 matches, we dont have long to wait to find out. #TeamMUFC
